We also use ours on a day to day basis as an MPV and have the two swivel captains seats with built in child seats. I intend to hang on to them and order the basic five seater Beach when the time comes to change, but only if the interior fabric and colour is the same. I'm a bit OCD with things like that.
Another reason why the Edition doesn't appeal to me as much is the mandatory comfort dash. It is nice to look at but far less practical than the uncomfortable one. We have the latter in our current Beach and as a result, enjoy much better dash storage. Our dash is all matt black which I also prefer as there are no reflections. Currently, it's purely down to personal choice however I have a sneaky suspicion that the Comfort dash will end up becoming a standard fixture on all Calis in the not too distant future.
Regarding the rear controls for the 3 zone climate, our three young crew often use/fight over it. Being the age that they are, whoever is sitting in the nearest seat looks after their own comfort and to hell with the others. It's also used as a method of bating the others into action! "I'm too hot" or "I'm freezing" is often followed by a heated altercation, mild physical violence, screaming and raised voices from the front seats
. As far as I'm concerned the design is missing a drivers overide lock. Yes, there is the SYNC button but they quickly worked out that it wasn't "broken" and they could continue annoying their grandparents. Is the only answer straight jackets for the little beggers?
