Custom build - 2020 Westfalia Club Joker 4Motion - Offroad build thread

So you have the AT3a’s and not the AT Trail? The only niggle I have in switching is that they are 2 ply, I haven’t had any issues with the KO2’s puncturing despite taking them on some pretty rough ground and at low pressures - they’ve been bombproof

Maybe I’m mistaken about the ply. Anyway, this is a good article!

From my understanding the AT3's are basically a resilient road tyre with some offroad capability. Certainly not the last word in offraod chops. I think these are ideal for most-case Cali users. Quiet on the road, yet with decent grip in soggy grass. Also better mpg.

They can handle a bit more than soggy grass:

I think that’s probably the AT Trail version rather than the AT3’s which have more aggressive tread. Both are two ply though vs the AT4’s which I believe have beefier sidewalls.

I have loved the KO2’s but they are very noisy now the tread is worn and are nearly £100 a tyre more expensive than the Falkens so I can afford to destroy three of them and still be in pocket!

The video is definitely the AT3W’s. Not the trail.

Those look oversized for the rim width. Must make for quite a spungy ride. I plan to get 235 60 (or 65's. can't remember which have least impact on speedo) R17's AT3's
