California Club Meet Dorset Club Meet - 28 Sep 2018

Many thanks to Kev, Martin, Simon and anyone else involved for organising a great weekend. It was so nice to see so many California's in one spot and of course to see old friends and make new ones....:thumb

P.S. hope to do it all again next year, oh and by the way can I book one of these pitches for next year 13, 16, 19, 21 or 23 but don't tell anyone ;)

Thanks to all who organised a great weekend & whoever ordered the weather did a pretty good job too:thumb
If anyone got a whiff of curry drifting over the site on Saturday evening it was probably us cooking in the van. It was very tasty at the time but the faint aroma in the van 2 days later is not so great!

Great to see everyone, sorry I didn't get chance to talk to everyone. I was only there saturday afternoon onwards but it was still very worth the drive to get to the meet.

What a friendly bunch, too many names to mention, wonderful weather, great location, great to see the Marco Polos there too. Saturday night also great, well done to the organisers and attendees for making it so wonderful.

Oh and hello to the Denmark crew, there were 5 of the DK vans there which was nice, like a mini reunion.

Martin, Simon, Kev, thanks for s great meet, had a great time and the weather was so so much better than the MAY meet!!! But still not as warm a Sicily :):)
Good to meet up with good friend old and new.
Again many thanks.

Absolutely fabulous weekend thank you. Great company, weather and views. Thanks to @Lulu for organising the quiz which was a real success.
Didn't want to leave this morning and the journey up the A31 was very slow but home now and sorting out the van ready for a trip to Chichester next weekend.

Spot the odd one out! :D

Oh well spotted, I didn’t see the other one! :D
But....... only one with purple bellows. I know it was an MP but still part of the meet :thumb
Sadly not in your Photo. :talktothehand:D

One of the great things about this forum and meets such as the Dorset one, is that you get to learn stuff about your Cali and what may be missing. In our case, we learnt from Jane & David (who'd only had a Cali for 2 days) that Ocean Edition models are identical / from stock and are all supposed to have the bed comfort / bed extension package (or whatever it's called), whereas we'd been sleeping on a bit of foam about 2" thick with nothing in between our bottom halves and the bench. It wasn't too bad tbh!

There were other 3 Ocean Editions at the meet and they all had the better mattress, so I went armed with this info to the dealer this morning and they agreed it must have been swapped out to another Cali, so they swapped ours with another Cali for the thicker one that folds out over the bench seat. Result and without the meet we would have been in the dark. With specicial thanks to the other Ocean Edition owners @motacyclist and @GillianC (I think) and Jane & David (don't know your username sorry).

PS Don't buy the 2-tone Cali ocean that's at Sinclair in Cardiff as it will have our old mattress that's been used for the last month and a half :embarrased

Thanks again @Lizzyj and apologies to Derek :headbang. Hope you enjoyed your Sunday night with a view. See you in Bolsover.

A big thank you to everyone who organised the meet. As newcomers we met some lovely, friendly people, asked loads of questions and learned a lot. Not least, the things we could buy for our van......better not go to the November meet then as I doubt we could afford it!

Yes it was me you came to see. That is a good result. I put a thin fleece topper on top of the comfort mattress too but it works well for me.
Continue enjoying your Edition
Ps a fitted single jersey sheet from Lidl fits the mattress perfectly and you can fold it with the sheet (and in my case the topper) in situ.
