** Important News: New Vehicle Registrations on Hold

We had our collection today too. Yay!

Except we picked up a little more than we'd hoped for...

I pulled up on the drive, got out, couldn't quite believe the bus was actually here.

I had a walk around to take it all in. My ear picked up a little pssss coming from the rear. Exhaust cooling down maybe...?

What are the chances?! Not even 50 miles on the clock!!!

Are these Goodyear four seasons screw magnets?

Needless to say it took the excitement out of today. I ran round to a local tyre shop who were VERY accommodating and were able to repair the tyre just before a long BH weekend.

Big picture, kids are delighted and so am I.

I'll post some more pics when I can.

Happy Easter all!

I will take your nail in a tyre and raise you, a side door that wont fully close, not even have the van 24hrs!! Back to the dealer we go next week. I'm now off to eat excessive amounts of Easter Eggs, enjoy Easter with your new van

Picked up mine today. It's a completely debadged 204 DSG 4Motion. Dealer was "persuaded" to absorb the extra VED. Its not looking so white now, after a couple of hours driving through muddy country roads in Perthshire. It seemed such a sensible colour in the showroom. Delighted with it, even so. Heading up to Macduff tomorrow. The heater will get its work out! Happy Easter folks.

That's really annoying.

What's up with the door? Is it manual or electric?

Won't it close even with a good slam shut?

Its a manual, we had an electric one before on our old cali, but went for a manual this time round due to the chance of the electric one going wrong, oh the irony!! It was working ok when we collected it, but this afternoon it stopped the final bit of the closing, the motorized bit. We read all the tips on here about the contacts and tried all of that, but no luck. Tried locking, unlocking, slamming etc no luck. In the end the AA came out and said it was safe to drive, but they couldn't fix it and it is going to have to go back to the dealer. :-(

Really sorry to hear that.

Hope its an easy fix and you're back on the road soon.

Bloody raining lots too.

There was a reset fix that worked for some, I think you open the door, switch the ignition on and off and then shut the door. Can’t quite remember if that was the exact sequence but it is on here somewhere in one of my early posts. In any case, the door should shut with a slam even if the electric bit isn’t working.

Sorry to hear about the problem but good luck.

Will give that a go tomorrow thanks.

Hopefully it will be fixed and you remain trouble free. Maybe Welsh Gas or Loz may be able to help. There are some geniuses here.

My T6 had that problem. Would close only as far as the seal.

Open it up. Switch everything off. Go and have a cup of tea. Come back to the van. Switch on the ignition and try and close the door. Mine closed and no fuss since.

Will a beer do, or does it have to be tea?

Fab thanks will give that a go tomorrow too!

We've been chasing a few rattles on ours since we picked it up. Mostly all of them were from our rushed packing but a couple were not. Wardrobe tambour door rattling, sorted with an additional felt pad and the airline roof locker seems to be a bit noisy when shut. Suspect a bit more felt tape/pad required on either side to silence it.

Other than that, everything seems to be working A.OK for now... fingers crossed it continues!

Early start to pick up The Stormtrooper from Mark at VW Van Centre, West Yorkshire. As always great service

Really pleased with our arrival. Wales now for the weekend

Life is too short for a Marco Polo
How dya get those wheels in the UK?????

Just collected mine yesterday and same problem, its in the tool box which is bolted to the bottom of the rear of the back seat. 2 knurled bolts which you undo and the velcro strap when removed will split the package. Hope that helps.

Brilliant. Thanks everyone.

New wheels fitted, just need to have the lowering springs fitted now because it looks like is on stilts!

Bit of wet woodland camping for us this weekend. Having our first brew this morning in the van and everything seems to work well.

This is the first van we haven’t named yet!

Great to hear all you folks picking up your new vans. Trying to be patient over here in Jersey....have seen our new delivery on Easter Friday, registration process etc slowed by the holidays and then awaiting a re-spray. A bit of frustration as we thought we were being delivered a seven seater, a rare occasion option for family and kid events. A bit of dealer/customer confusion (being polite! He went in the boot and said ‘well there not in there! Seriously) Can’t wait to be beyond all the delays and misinformation and join you all in new vehicle excitement, five or seven seats....whatever give me my van!!!

Respray???
Yeah, well spray over. Not another VW moment. We loved the two tone but not the price or the colour selection. So she’s all white and going in for a bottom half in a marina blue. Then we’ll take her home. Can’t wait.
