Jump Starting another vehicle

We had a jump start and SusiBus T5 by the RAC. His procedure was always to connect positive to positive battery terminals, negative on the reciprocant vehicle to battery terminal and negative to a Good Earth on the donor vehicle then start the donor vehicle switching on something elecrical, i.e. lights, heater to help discharge and power surge should it occur. I think if you read the hand book it has the procedure well explained, possibly without the comment about switching something electrical on.

I helped someone out recently, positive to positive and engine block to engine block and all good.

As diesel, just need to leave them connected longer than you’d think to get enough juice over.
