Ps just painted it on
Thank you. I'm not fully sure it's the roof itself or the roof seal or the front roof seal. VW seem rubbish so I'm gathering as much info as I can.Ps just painted it on
@TripleBee would you mind sharing a picture indicating the black tab in the plastic trims you mention, and where you found the hole in the sealant?I had a water leak at back on the right side once, after I got a new roof.
It appeared to be the hole under the plastic trim at the end of the roofrail.
If you pull out the black tab in the plastic trim, there are in total of the roof 4 holes. They should be filled up with silicone or whatever. Mine had a very small hole as the sealant wasn't completely filled up. Just filled it up with some silicone and no water anymore.
Maybe you have this on the front left trim? Worth looking.
On every corner, you have the black plastic end caps:@TripleBee would you mind sharing a picture indicating the black tab in the plastic trims you mention, and where you found the hole in the sealant?
Thanks in advance!!
For information:
My 2021 T6.1 Beach roof has developed a very similar issue as in this thread. Roof drain work correctly & are empty. Roof seal around poptop is seated correctly. Canvas itself is not the issue (has been used in heavy rain without issue).
Issue only occurs when roof is closed & van standing (level) in heavy rain/driving in the rain, so I’m suspecting one of the rivets on the rails on top of the roof may be the reason. Van is no longer in warranty and I’m not ready to have a whole new roof installed.
Yes, very helpfull! On every corner, you have the black plastic end caps:

Near the aluminium rail, you have the black oval cap. Just pry it off gently with a smaller flathead screwdriver.

Here, you see the black silicone blob on the right of the opening? On the right rear cap, there was a tiny hole in the silicone, which lead to water ingress in the pop top roof.

After I found this out, I just resealed the hole with some fresh silicone, and never had a problem with it anymore.
Hope this helps?
