Road Trip - France, Spain, Portugal

Day 37
La Villa Joyosa
Small seaside town between Alicante and Benidorm, still retains an old town with pretty coloured houses and a small beach, somewhere we’ve visited many times before, it’s a nice little place , we like it here.
Weather is good. 26 degrees.
Full on Costa-Blanca now, fat Brits and fat Germans.
Our parents had a flat in ‘Villa’ for many years - when we called during the summer (stayed at https://www.campingalicanteimperium.com/ ) it had changed considerably but still remained a working Spanish town with a lovely beachfront.

It must have been lovely years ago. We’re staying on the same site, nice. Bit of a walk into town.
It was. Father in law was a languages teacher and bought flat in the 70’s to immerse the family in the culture and language of Spain. Both his daughters (one now my wife ☺) speak French and Spanish which is very handy.
Great post.
Where you heading to next?

Day 35 & 36
Visiting family at their apartment in Murcia
I read that and was reminded of a time when on a 3 week tour of Norway, we stayed at a hotel for one night, but were so used to the van that for morning tea, we came back to the van.

living in a house after 35 days in the van would've felt different.

Well, now you're back on the road.

We stayed in the van.
For a few reasons, one of them being we didn’t want to lose our van streak ha.

Day 38
Alicante. We love Alicante. Mrs willwander’s eldest used to live here, so we’ve been many times before and know the place really well. Twat to park tho.
It was great to take a trip down memory lane and visit a few old haunts.

Dogs did really well, it was hot and we walked a lot, bless them.

Along Spanish coast, towards Barcelona then France. if you know any good spots? your recommendations have been bang on this trip.
We liked https://kikopark.com/ right on the beach on the outskirts of Oliva (just north of Denia so might be a bit too close to your current stop). Typical Spanish town reached by a walk along the canal from the marina near the site. Amazed by the number of turtles in the canal!

We found much of this coastline full of Brits tho

Where did you find to park with enough height clearance? Have not been in center with van only a car and used to park under the main road. The plaza mar 2 shopping center on the edge of the town is good but you have to park on roof or road next to it . Looks like it was a nice day and few people about.

It's a bit of an optical illusion that paving. Amazing trees along the paseo. We were there yesterday signing some stuff at our solicitors for our spanush residency application. It's a small world.

Day 39
Calp & Oliva
Spent the day in Calp, bumped into some friends who were there on package holiday ha. Nice day. Headed off towards Oliva, tried to get into Kiko park, but is was full, as was the next place and the next place and the next ha, managed to get a pitch at ole Camping, it’s packed. Reception said it was busier than high season. Few kids about maybe it’s half-term holidays in Europe?

Good beach here. Nice moon tonight.
