Hello All,

Our Cali last week started showing an intermit error message on the control
Panel of a "roof fault" message with an annoying bleeping. The roof had not
been raised for at least 4 months prior to this fault occurring.

So we booked at our local VW Van dealer who could not find a reason for the
Fault , they cleared the error log and tried to blame it on the roof rack causing the
Roof not to sit correctly. Nothing has been on the roof rack since September and
Then it was only a surf board.

My Wife collected the Cali turned the ignition on and showed an embarrassed
service manager the fault had returned. So we are booked again for them to
have a second go to fix under warranty.

Has anybody seen this fault before so we can help them :headbang

Cheers
Mark

Could it be that the roof is not sitting tight enough and the control panel has just picked up on it ?
I.e. Some thing laying in the roof seating or a screw or rivet worked loose.
I had the roof alarm going shortly after owning my Cali.
The reason being I released the close button to soon......

Hope you sort it out soon.

Cheers for the comment.

She goes back again tomorrow to Breeze , let's see if they take the investigation further.

I had one in this week with the roof open warning flashing on the display. There was a fault code stored which we cleared and it has been fine since.

Have you got the roof open warning flashing or something different?

cheers

Roof open message!

Hi
Got in Cali tonight. Roof open symbol flashing on display panel and 'roof open' flashing up.
Opened roof about a month ago it was fine.
Tried to open/close roof to then close again but it won't open!
Driven it and roof open still flashing and annoying beeping every few seconds.
Phoned vw Cov and they said it could be a variety of things.
Any ideas anyone?

Evening all,
We now have a fault diagnosis from their "master technician" no less .
Water has penetrated the roof and damaged a small part of the
Wiring loom affecting the roof sensors.

So need to wait 3-5 days for a complete new roof wiring loom.
At least it's covered under warranty.

Cheers
Mark
