C CaliAM 2 Hi. As the rally field is full, we have booked in to the caravan site. First rally, so looking forward to meeting some kindred spirits. Alison and Mark
Arlene Arlene 3 We've just bought a Cali but don't have it yet. Slimbridge is local to us. Would it be possible to pop in Friday evening to say hello and get some advice on awnings, bike racks, portaloos etc etc!!?
After cancelling our june trip to scottland i now have a new focus on a potential trip (if the restrictions allow travelling abroad)
Who knows i might be popping in ....
Will not book in advance doh , as we are not sure if it’s possible to leave the country in september....they might turn things back to lockdown.

Would be great to see you both!

Hi Simon
Are there any spaces left? Mick and I would like to come again if you’d have us

Good morning Rosie
Be very nice to see you both again and catch up. There are some spaces left. You have to ring the site office to book, unfortunately it can't be done online. The price is £35 for 2 nights and you book directly with the campsite 01453-890483. You must mention VW California Club to get the discounted rate and to be with the main group.

See you there
Simon

I've just been updated by the site, and there are 5 places left. They have had to reduce our overall number by 15 vans to avoid too much pressure on the washroom facilities. Many sites are unfortunately reducing the numbers of touring campervans and tents because they generally don't have their own facilities onboard. The campsite facilities are open and disinfected multiple times a day but they are encouraging people to use their own if they have them.
The phones are very busy at the site but they are being answered. You could try sending a phone number by email and asking for a call back.

Will be .lovely to see you too. All booked up. Was a lose run thing though.

We are coming to Slimbridge. We are not staying on the main club rally field as we have sold the Cali, (gone bigger) but we will be adjacent to the field so looking forward to catching up with our club friends before we head off to Scotland. :thumb

Good Evening All, I have been told by the Slimbridge site that there are 3 spaces left on the field.

Wow big decision! Will be great to see you both again x

Am hoping to book this tomorrow if they have space :)
Last Cali rally I went to here was a few years ago and I remember watching the storms from under the event shelters! Hope that the weather is kinder to us this time.

Just called to book and they think that all the spaces have gone but I have to call back at 12 and they will check meantime.
@SimonB do you know if there are any left please?

There were a couple of spaces left when they last updated me at the start of last week and I think only one person has said that they are coming since then.
Good luck, be nice to catch up again.
Simon

If anyone is thinking of visiting Slimbridge Wetland Centre you will need to pre-book on their website, as they are limiting numbers. Spaces are available at present.

They tell me that pitches are still remaining on the main campsite, I managed to book a pitch reasonably close to the rally pitches

WOULD IT NOT BE THE SAME
Will the recent change to people meeting in groups effect this meet?
Would it not be the same as staying on a camp site as long as you keep groups to 6 or below, I can't really see it being an issue. We are meeting up with another couple so our bubble/group will be 4 and 4 dogs :thumb so space for to other.

Agree...no meeting under shelters this year watching the thunder storm come across but as long as we socially distance as you would on a camp site and the site itself has COVID precautions in place then hopefully it will be allowed.

How does law see it though? Not really fair on organiser to risk a £5,000 fine?
