Hi all, I just want to get your advice on how to check the VIN numbers correctly on a Cali, i remember reading somewhere that it is located in a few places on a Cali.
 
I can only vouch for mine. Open bonnet, front left had side.

I remember reading somewhere, that there was also some ID markings inside, not sure if it was vin number or just that it was a California?
 
Stamped on scuttle panel and sticker on slam panel. Not sure if anywhere else

Scuttle under windscreen - vin on o/s. Slam panel where bonnet shuts. Vin on sticker o/s

I notice that you are based in Ireland. I am in Dublin and have A 99 with the compact roof. It is a 102 TDI. It is early 99 so it still has the fresh water in the rear right under the bed.
You are welcome to have a look and pull off any panels to view leisure battery or battery charger. You could put the control into test and this gives a reasonable test of heater and fridge. It tells you the temp that it thinks the fridge is at which you could then check with thermostat.
If it suits you are most welcome to play.

Hi there, thanks very much for the offer, I'm based in mayo, but I might take you up on your offer before I go and view a camper.
 
Hi everyone, I'm going to view a cali in the morning and the owner has sent me some photos in advance. However I have noticed that this cali has a digital display and control knob to the right of the cigarette lighter\above the ashtray.
I've never seen one of these in a cali before only in multivans. Does anyone know what this display is for?

The mystery panel is a radio unit.

Looks good. Check the docs. If they look ok take his hand off.
 
It's not the radio I'm on about, small LCD panel beside the lighter socket is what has me worried.
