What have you done with your California today?

Bought 4 new Michelin Crossclimate Agilis last week, and today tried them out in snow and ice for getting to the beginning of our mountain ski ascent. Parked at 2072m, -10C, chains required but I didn’t need them. It’s great when a product does what’s advertised. Port del Bonaigüa, Spanish Pyrenees. I slept and cooked in the van for three days, Camping Aigües Tortes, Esterri de Aneu, 18 euros a day with no EHU. I love the parking heater! No topper or inside liner, and only VW cloth liners for the windshield and front door windows. Top was up for cooking and changing, but I was by myself in the van so I slept downstairs with the upper bed lowered and about 2cm of the sliding cover open to allow ventilation through the vents in the raised top. Almost zero condensation. -15C at the summit, but as the Norwegians say, there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes.View attachment 71438

More exciting than my day!
Washed the outside, cleaned the inside.
Sat in it for a wee while reminiscing all the great trips we’ve done in the first 9 months of ownership. Then got disheartened about all the trips we've had to cancel in the last 9 months.

That sentence is priceless!
We actually keep a Cali log, destinations, mileages, notes etc just for interest. Putting that together with zillions of photographs we really can relive our trips Here’s hoping we all get to start travelling again before the summer.

Stuck my French and German LEZ stickers in the van and registered online for Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent LEZ’s

The windscreen will be covered at this rate
You might be right :)
I have checked on some other EU countries. Some have daily City passes i.e. Spain and some don’t require a sticker or registration for M1 category vehicles i.e. Austria.
Anybody on the forum know of other EU countries where passes must be purchased and displayed before entry?

when your van is a Euro 5 one you don’t have to register in Belgium. Only from January 2025 you have to register and pay your indulgence.

Thanks Klakski.
When I looked at the LEZ Brussels and LEZ Antwerp/Ghent websites they suggested that I should register online? Maybe I misunderstood?
Anyway, I’ve done it and after checking my vehicle they have confirmed by email. It was free of charge to register and is valid until 2023 for Brussels and 2027 for Antwerp and Ghent.

You might come back on your steps there , i think every foriegn plate that enters the LEZ must be in registers before entering even euro6 .

EDIT: example for Antwerp
I don’t want to start a discussion but when I typ in my car’s registration and its date of birthit says that I do not have to register (for Antwerp that is, dunno ’bout Brussels or Ghent)

Living the California dream.
Early start at the allotment, a bonfire and a brew in the shed. What more could a man ask for :)
