Hi peeps

We wondered how many people would be up for a mini informal meet for a weekend in August?

17th to 19th August.

Manor Caravan Park
Happisburgh
Norwich
Norfolk
NR12 0PW Tel: 01692 652228

I've arranged it with the owner, the plan is if you want to go, please call him and book yourself in mentioning the club - but please let us know too!

£14 per unit per night and includes awning, pup tents, dogs and children! (No hookup as the Caravan club have a rally that week, but we get the better views being closer to the cliff)

The site is right on the top of the cliffs in north Norfolk offering stunning views of the waves as they crash over! There are showers and washing up facilities and clinical disposal area.

AND a pub right next to the site that has a good selection of beers etc and does food.

Happisburgh is a lovely quiet village ideally located for easy access to Cromer and Sheringham.

There are some nice walks around the area and it is easy to walk into Walcott, another small village up the coast, where there is the Lighthouse Inn which also serves a selection of ales and has an extensive menu.

We will turn up on the Friday night and look to sort us out a section of the field for the club
When you make the booking please remember to mention the vwcaliforniaclub

Well I think that's all I can tell you... Hope you can make it and we look forward to seeing you!

Google link, the camping field is next to the holiday park:-

Re: Norfolk - informal social

This is the same weekend as Thomas is at Bressingham (for those of us with young children) (http://www.bressingham.co.uk/content/eventarticle.aspx?id=47) which we had in the diary already as a possible trip away.

I know Bressingham is not particularly close to Happisburgh but I grew up only a few miles away (from Happisburgh) in North Walsham so we'd also have wanted to visit the North Norfolk coastline too.

So, the date and location for this meet is perfect for us. Count us in. :thumb

Re: Norfolk - informal social

People are generally busy for the bank holiday do that's why I went for that weekend - hopefully there will be a meet closer to you and we can meet up then :)

Re: Norfolk - informal social

Guys - don't forget you need to call the site direct and book please. He will keep me posted as to numbers nearer the time. Please tell him you are part of the VW California Club :D

Thank you. :thanks

I'm 99% certain we'll be up for this :thumb

Had a great weekend at Hollands Wood this weekend at a meet and eager to come to another :thumb

I stayed in Sheringham recently for my birthday - it's lovely and the coast of Norfolk, particularly north Norfolk in amazing.

Completely under rated as a place :)

This would be quite local for me - so would love to attend

Strangely I drove back through two rain showers - and I drove back through London, which was also wet - I did that to break up the M25 which is so boring.

Lovely drive through Barnes - then over Putney Bridge and the Thames, then on past the Embankment and through the city.

Not too bad driving through London, usual stress, but the van coped :)

So, the van is looking pretty clean - I kind of like the mud.
