Having the rear driveshafts doesn’t help dropping the hubs enough to release the springs. Sounds like
@kave didn’t need to disconnect the driveshafts but used a small bottle jack to help lever the hubs down.
Doing the springs/ARB/shocks as above will significantly improve your handling characteristics whilst retaining full ride height. If you’ve done some miles then you’ll also want new rubber mounts for the rear springs. TransporterHQ sell some Heavy duty options as well as genuine.
Another suggestion which wasn’t an option at the beginning of this thread is to consider the Koni Special Active shocks over the Sachs. Plenty of positive information about these on other threads and work with the standard length suspension. Downside is they are more pricey.(DCPerformance.co.uk are often worth a look for best prices)
