Should be useful as the heat source is above it and will reduce the cold from the ground.

I am. To ease the pain of the tolls I've paid! Seriously, it is such a relaxing vehicle to drive.
Ha ha yep it’s a good chunk of money driving that far on tolls done it many times too...Cool enjoy
Are you carrying anything on the roof??
What class was the tolls grading you??

Home now. Nothing on the roof or rack so Classe 1 all the way. Cost 80+ Euros but it made the journey easy.

We've been scoffing cheese and testing the winter tyres. Anyone know where?

Put my new unbreakable lightweight wine glasses (essential) and tea cups in drawers as well as my new collapsible water carrier.

The Courtyard Dairy just off the A65 north of Settle
Correct and what a great discovery this place was.
For anyone readig this, the young couple that run this business specialise in the very best quality British farm produced cheeses and they really know their stuff. They always stock thirty different cheeses with five of those being changed regularly for new types. They are very keen to offer you tasters and impart their extensive knowledge of the products.

If you are in the area it's well worth a visit and we can recommend the cafe upstairs. You won't be suprised to learn that cheese features on the menu along with other yummy fodder.

The only dissapointment was that as we are staying in a b and b we hadn't bothered with the fridge on this trip so only came away with a couple of small pieces.

But how much longer and how much extra diesel if you had travelled the Non-Toll route?:)

Well taking the fastest non toll route suggested by Google maps, which I did on the way down, is something over 100 miles further. Say £25-£30 on Diesel plus it takes too long to make it to Calais in one day comfortably. If it was a warmer time of year I would happily wander home sampling the wine and food on the way. France at the moment is wet and cold - at least it was all the way on Sunday. I had had a good 9 days skiing and was happy to pay the premium to get home efficiently. That doesn't stop me thinking the tolls are excessive for what they provide.

Drove to the gym and then went snowboarding as always on Wednesday. Used the van as a changing room and heated cabin to have a tea and on my way back home I used the parking heater to dry my boots, gloves and goggles. Love it!

Yes Cali is a great drying room with the roof up, couple window flaps part open and heater on 6 :)

The following day some of it had melted in the overnight rain. Very mixed weather, strong winds, horizontal rain, sunshine, hail. Very happy to go back to the warmth of the Cali in the evenings which was parked on a site nearer to sea level.

That could be me! Currently in my Cali next to the amenity block drinking some french cider after a very wet day skiing.
