Well done all. Cracking weekend.

Still feel a bit vacant, I blame Lee and Laine for forcing me to drink their whiskey and rum..... :crazy

I thought the event was really good and it was clear effort and thought had been into everything. I think these events are only improved through experience and it is a learning experience.

I can only speak for myself but I thought the stalls and traders on Saturday worked well. It was great to have a bit of wander and look at bits. What might have worked well if there was somewhere to socialise, such as a bar, somewhere to meet. One of the strengths of the whole weekend was the meeting people and that is clearly what is meant to happen. I also wonder if the campsite is the best option for the number of Calis that turned up. Not a criticism because it was an amazing event and as I said, it's all a learning experience.

I enjoyed it and I don't think anyone could have really planned for the sight of of Cali after Cali driving through the gate on Friday, it was something to see :)

The team work between various people was also great :)

Whoops posted already in Cali farm thread, but once again cheers :clap :clap

1)forum name plate signs to go in front of campers on little wooden posts? Website logo then forum name can be laminated, used again and again? Just an idea.

2)Also next time if there's a sunny day like today we can do the giant bubbles and hope to have great photos with the campers in the back ground.

3) I like the idea of a bigger tent to meet everyone in just in case of bad weather :headbang

4) we could have a big pin board map where people could put there flags/camper flags on so people could see where other campers come from. So if wanted to they could meet up etc.

5) is there a thread which could be turned into a sticky for campsites?

6) is there a thread for events? Reason being Godalming has a food festival 6 July and, there is a campsite at the Merry Harriers pub in Hascombe a few miles down the road, I have not camped but have had food there which was really good.

I think that is me done and once again great to meet everyone :hello :thanks

I distinctly remember them holding you down and pouring it down your neck. What I don't remember is you saying such things as "I heard there was some Spiced Rum on offer over here" :laugh2

is there a quicker way to post pics rather than putting them into the gallery first?

I keep trying to add photos taken by my iphone, but it keeps telling me that the file is too big. I would love to share some pics if anyone can help!

It is easier to upload pics to Flickr, Photobuecket etc.. them link them across to the forum

Thankyou so much for organising this event
Us camping Brits never let a spot of rain dampen our enthusiasm and the double rainbow made up for the rain
Met some lovely people and found out things about my Cali I didn't know before - like you can move the seats back once turned!!!
Lovely neighbours and very friendly

I took my 13 yr old son and he and I had a great time

Thankyou again lots of hard work I am sure

Next time I might prep some gluten free alternative for those us few coeliac s that may be attending if there is a need. Someone managed to eat my preordered gluten free meal before I got to it but its ok I was fully prepared for this and had something in the Cali for such a situation !!!

Great ideas!!! We thought a beer tent would be a good meeting place! The local pub had a great West Sussex Ale which if we put some more money to hire a marquee we could all chill for beer/soft drinks and more time to chat! We all will have our own chairs and tables so no need to hire those! That way we could meet even MORE people!!!

Beer tent!!! :bananadance :upsidedown :bananadance

We did think about name labels but they got 'forgotten'. If folk wish to make/purchase name plates I am sure they would be welcome to use them at any club events.

Yes I think we now realise that the 'marque' we had was not up to the job. A marque the size we would need is quite expensive to hire, but worth discussing nearer the time of future events.

We have a club googlemaps page that can be used for this.
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=203743470130036648515.0004c2eb2e37e22ed5f46
Perhapse you could organise a pin board map for the next event ?

There is already a sub forum for 'Campsite Reviews'.

Also a sub forum for 'Meets & Events'.

All the above are my own thoughts & not necessarily those of the staff team !

Us and our 'Bongo' friends had a really great time! Thank you all so much for the hard work and organisation!

Lots of good ideas for future events being thrown about...

We did think there was a couple of things people could have 'cashed in on' lol

1. The campsite doesn't sell Gas and we ran out (all bar a mini bottle) so a mini vendor would have been handy

2. There was Expresso Espresso but what about a beer/drink trailer? Perhaps there's an issue with licensing? Not that we needed any extra alcohol but it would have meant us not going back to our van and then the rain started and we got cosy!

What a huge event and everyone was so friendly. Sorry that we didn't get round to you all and say hello - but hope to see some of you at the next one!

:thanks

Happy to help in any way I can for next meet!!!

Thanks to everyone involved in organising and running COTF. We had a lovely time, chatted to lots of people, some who's name we have remembered, some we've forgotten and some we never knew...

Great that a T3 Cali came along, it was one of my favourites.

Apologies again to our neighbours who we did our best to smoke out on Friday night!

Think I got most vans on a video, if anyone doesn't want there van (I know some people don't like there reg numbers displayed) in a internet video, let me know and I'll edit it out (assuming the footage is any good, of course)
