Yes. You can only extend to a total of 5 years but you still pay £329 +Vat i.e. as though you were taking it from 3 years to 5. Madness, but still do it!

Mine said that too although he suggested that I could do it as the end of the 4-year warranty approached?

Yep, same message I got, trouble is, it'll be a lot more expensive at the end of the four years. I'll give it another go.

You have a short window of time after collection, I don't remember the exact timescale but it isn't long. No more than 3 months or so. It takes VW forever to register it on their systems/to show up as having been paid so make sure you get a detailed receipt too.

We had the current offer of a 4 year warranty. I paid £329+Vat to extend to 5 years. The dealer emailed me the paperwork whilst I was taking to him! It is so, so simple. Why are some dealers just useless?

You can extend through any competent dealer.

I'm pretty certain you have to do it within 3 months of purchase. Enquire directly to VW customer services if I was you you.

Look up Extended Factory Warranty on the VW vans website. (Screen shot below) The small print states it has to be taken out within 3 months of first registration.

You will need to ask your dealer how much to extend a further year at the end of year 4.

Spoken to VW Customers Services about the warranty & services, not helpful at all, actually more confused on the warranty. Person I spoke to said there are 2x different warranties, one with VW Vans and the other with 'LawShield UK' via VW Finance UK which is after the third year! Now trying to contact my dealer to see if they can help!

Contacted VW Customer care and they were terrible, said speak to your dealer! Now waiting for them to contact me, can never get through to the sales person direct (Robinsons, Norwich).

Apologies for the delay but we now have clarity as follows:
As you know you have the 4 year Complimentary care package that grants you the 4th year FOC that takes you up to 120000 miles or 4 years whichever is sooner.
The 4-5 year warranty upgrade would come in 2 mileage bands (up to 80000 miles or 150000 miles)
The 80K Mileage (Over 5 years would cost you only a further £30.00) Fine if you average 16000 miles pa
The 150K Mileage (Over 5 years would cost you only £350.00) Perfect if you average 30000 miles pa
I Trust this clarifies and please advise which one you would like to purchase, Mike.

At £30 it certainly is, going to do it but can't get hold of the dealer, waiting for him to return my call/emails!

Managed to finally speak to our dealer/sales guy, he can't find any prices or info on the extended 5th yr warranty 2x mileage bands (£30 for 80K). You added the message from your dealer, take it you took the extra 5th year? Our warranty care package is 4yrs and 2yrs service, dealer going to look into it further, which dealership did you get the info from about the mileage bands. It's no brainer, sales guy said the same and would recommend it if he knew about it!!

Eurovans Crawley. Mike and Victor did quite a bit of digging to get the information. Seems crazy that ALL VW Dealerships don’t have this info’ at their fingertips!

Yes Sep 19 at point of purchase 5 years 2 free services.

Yes, mine is in progress. If you’re not going to exceed 80000 miles over 5-years the cost is only £30. To cover you up to 150,000 miles it’s £350. Detailed for me by my dealership elsewhere in this thread.
