My grandfather had a contraption not altogether dissimilar from that, but less heavily engineered. It pressed his name and address onto sheets of paper.

I reckon this contraption presses thin sheets of metal into a shape, or with a logo.

If you day visit, you will need to park up along the road approaching the site. Do not park in the Black sheds carpark as there is parking management on it with an £85 fine unless you leave your registration with the cafe(as customers) there is also the Car park further on at WWT Slimbridge which is worth a visit.

As Loz says, there is not anywhere obvious to park. The Slimbridge WWT has a car park, I don't know the arrangements for it, but regretfully it is not easy to park on the public roads around here.
They are all narrow with soft earth verges and generally with a large drainage ditch, not ideal for a 3 tonne vehicle.
If you are still thinking of coming on the chance of finding a parking space, could I suggest between 12.00 & 3.00. We don't want to upset the locals and not be welcome here in future.

When I contacted them this morning there were 2 places left on our field. The field is drying out nicely and if the weather holds up should be fine.
There will be enough of us there to carry you & the Cali out if you got stuck. The site is well practised in handling rallies and will make sure you are OK.

Thanks Simon - I've since realised that it's not really on my way as I'd have to go either down to the bridge or up to Gloucester (my sister lives near Monmouth). May have to rethink!

It's getting closer now and fingers Xssed the weather is going to get better and better so we can sit outside and get to meet everyone/chat ect..

We have access to 2 Coleman event shelters ( I’m a guide leader and they belong to our district) with sides if you would like us to bring them and the site will allow us to put them up for us to socialise in. Any one with lamps to light in evening would be needed (also help to put up lol)
