California Club Meet Gloucestershire Meet April 20th - 22nd

Well it can't be much worse than the Dorset meet...

I personally think wet & windy is worse than dry & cold. But it is a very individual thing. At least with the dry & cold and mostly low winds, as Dorset was, you don't have lots of wet clothes everywhere drying off all the time. Windy, as in 40mph+ means you have to be careful with awnings and putting the roof up which limits the space available. You do have add the disadvantage of snowy roads to contend with as well, possibly.
But as we had a meal with @Loz in Snowdonia last Sunday evening, we agreed that the Cali was one of the best vehicles to be in through all sorts of weather. We felt very fortunate compared to a cyclist who was going from Conwy to Bristol over the Easter Weekend. He only had a small tent as protection from the weather.

We have access to 2 Coleman event shelters ( I’m a guide leader and they belong to our district) with sides if you would like us to bring them and the site will allow us to put them up for us to socialise in. Any one with lamps to light in evening would be needed (also help to put up lol)

They are fine with that. They take up a fair bit of space in your Cali I assume, so don't feel you need to bring both of them. The site owner will find a suitable spot depending on the weather at the time. Thanks for the offer.

We have had quite a few requests from people wanting to collect items from us at the Gloucester meet.

What we have done is set up a code to remove the delivery charge. When you go through the checkout please enter code: GLOSFREE you can also use this in conjunction with your VIP discount code. We also ask in the delivery address you enter 'Gloucester Meet' in the section where it says company name.

We’ve just booked out pitch for two nights, this is out first adventure in our Cali, so looking forward to the experience and meeting you all.

ARRIVAL TIME

Arrival time is from 12.00 on the Friday. St. John's Road by Slimbridge School can be very busy between 2:45pm & 3:15pm when children are finishing school - we suggest you delay your arrival to avoid the school end of day; or arrive between 12.00 - 14.30
I'll find out beforehand whether the site want to book you in or whether he wants us to do it. There will be VWCC markers to indicate where to go.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

It'll be our first adventure as well, good to know we're not the only newbies!

Hi Simon
Hopefully we will have the new Club banners by then and in which case we will arrive around 12:00. (is that OK?)
Looking forwards to getting our season underway!

I’ve tried to order the Tear Aid Fabric repair but, when I type in GLOSFREE, it knocks off £5.99 and only wants to charge me £4.50 which I’m sure is not right. Can you bring one with you to the meet and I’ll settle up with you there?

Not a problem Simon, We have a sheltapod we can put them in if not required during the weekend. All collected from store. Putting them up will provide entertainment if nothing else!!!!!!! Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Are you going to arrange for everyone to meet up officially one evening, so all the new (and old timers lol) owners can get to meet with everyone??

Last minute booking. Arriving Saturday on pitch nearby as field full. Thank you Simon for email and for all the organising.

It would have to be Saturday evening as Friday could be a late arrival for some people. If the weather is good that would be a great idea.

Saturday lunch? Bring your own food? Pic from 2012 meet.

Hi all, I can't stay over but will come along on the Saturday afternoon as want to say hello and meet as many of you as possible (assuming you're not all still asleep from the Friday night revelries)

Finally can confirm we are free that weekend!

Booked last night and got the last grass pitch with electric hookup for Friday and Saturday. There were grass pitches without hookup still available.

Looking forward to it.
