VW California Ocean in Fortana Red or Indium Grey

Just about to push the button on a new California Ocean, I have the choice of Fortana Red or Indium Grey just can't make my mind up. They are identical spec with Woodstock alloys.

Members opinions would be appreciated regarding colour choice.

Thanks in advance
One option is a colour, the other is a primer waiting for Colour to be added.

The road is dull enough with shades of white gray and black dominating the car market. Next time you drive out, count the number of boring looking car colours.

As a splash of colour. I’ll warm your heart I’m sure.

In fact go two tone.

According to the inter web red cars are most likely to have an accident in the UK so having chosen Fortuna red your next big decision is insurance…

I’m sure it’s nonsense, enjoy itand welcome to the club
Thanks for all your comments today, it did help me decide on the Fortana Red. Picking it up on Wednesday

I’m sure it’s nonsense, mine is black/grey and I had my door mirror knocked off today by a grey car! enjoy it and welcome to the club.

This maybe true. Given that 2/3 of all cars have no colour pigment I’m going to remain sceptical.
Rubbing my Jimmy Hill chin and muttering schewer ;)
If it is true I’m betting it’s all those grey cars smashing into red ones as they’re jealous.

We've just closed a deal on a new 6.1 Fontana Red Ocean ps 204. Grey is so beige. We considered the incoming Cali but the new extra sliding door and internal configuration didn't appeal at all. So it's sadly bye bye to our raven blue 2009 SE PS 174. We've had a fabulous 15 years with it.
.

Just to confuse matters, I found this on Reddit:
“Red cars have a 7% higher risk of an accident than the safest color on the road. However, red cars are associated with a lower risk of accidents than black, grey, and silver cars.”

You have to ask: ‘what is the safest colour?’ White?

Indian grey would be my choice - but both sound great

I wanted Indium Grey but they didn’t have any in stock so I got Fontana Red. I am so glad I did as it looks amazing and doesn’t look like a commercial vehicle.

I didn't have the option at the time but my Indium Grey came with such a high spec I didn't look elsewhere - I do like the idea it doesn't stand out in the mix and is easier to hide when stopping off grid in Scotland. Our last was a T5 conversion in Candy White and no matter how hard I tried 'off grid' you could always spot it even hidden in trees! Fortana Red is lovely colour but is there any concerns about fading like reds used to do??

We went for Fortana red as too many boring grey vehicles on the road1000028904.jpg

I'm biased now I've got one.......Chrome pack really sets it off, looks more car (non-trade) like. Wasn't going for that colour originally, thought of (and initially specced Grey - like my existing vehicle) but better half's comments sold it for me. Love the Fortana Red. Excellent choice you've made.

Grey is a pigment too.

It’s the white cars that should upset your sensibilities!

Yours pedantically. Juan.

I often contemplate if neighbours etc think my Ascot Grey is a builders van and that I’ve changed career.

It is quite dull, no doubt. But with its winter boots, it looks utilitarian. When I fully kit it with Swamper wheels, positively dystopian.

I secretly hope the villagers now cross the road when they see me coming. Like Mad Max has moved in.

On topic. Fortana was my other choice.

End of the day go for what you personally like, enjoy the cali , enjoy the life.
