Build Week 33

Just had a call from the dealer. My Cali is at Port of Exit - Status code 38! This is an Ocean 150 DSG. Thought it might bring some comfort to all of us waiting that at least the vehicles are finally leaving the factory. I’m told approx two weeks until it’ll be ready for pick up but exciting times.

Hi Darryl does this mean yours has passed its WLTP?

Certainly gives some heart for sure. Have you been given the revised figures for emissions tax and mpg, that will be interesting.

To be honest I was so excited to hear that it was finally out of the factory I didn't specifically ask. One would assume that it's Volkswagens responsibility to ensure the WLTP has been met before they release the vehicle from the factory?

That information hasn’t been past onto the dealer. Should be with them on Monday but the dealer is not expecting anything to change for the 150s. Will report back when I hear.

I think it will change for them all as the test procedure is different so will give a different result. Clearly the 204 had further to go so they have dropped it to 199. I suspect the 199 4 motion I have bought is the problem child. Anyway look forward to you confirming either way. Enjoy the collection

I just gave VWCV another call and it's left the factory and is at the exit port :)

So week 44 should be do-able, touch wood.

I guess this means that the screenshot posted on another thread is reasonably accurate and that vans are cleaning WLTP.

I've mailed my dealer to confirm so will see if he has any more details.

I got a reply from my dealer today (build week 33): “The vehicle is built and being shipped to port of exit, vehicle will be release end of October and should be with us the first couple of weeks in November”. When I mentioned leaving registration till 2019 I got this reply: “Registering your California in the new year wouldn’t change anything as the plate change isn’t until march next year. As the plate change has recently happened in September it would be registered on a 68 Plate”.

Ours is at the Port of Sheerness awaiting collection by the dealer.

We were build week 36. :bananadance2

There is hope for all of you waiting...

Matt. Before or after.......or don’t you know! Forces Cars Direct have written to say mine is ‘likely to be’ December now

Is yours the 204 (now 199ish) or the smaller engine. I think my diesel 204 DSG 4 motion may be the problem child of options for WLTP. Do you know if any have arrived in the U.K. afrter testing yet.

the now 199 ocean, awaiting a call from VWCS with an update

I’ve written to them as well. It will be interesting to compare the results!

So week 52 expected not confirmed - a rather defensive complaints manager on the phone, not wanting to except responsibility for anything trying to divert blame to anyone else. Accusing them of providing misinformation!

It kind of adds insult to injury. The last time I spoke to someone I was told I’d just have to ‘suck it up’ which enraged me. Unfortunately there has never been a coherent message from VWCS, dealer or broker in my case.

Today my dealer said my Beach is waiting at the exit port. Build week 37. Not long now. Sounds like 150’s have cleared WLTP at least...

Yeah, the same delivery date my dealer estimated back in August, apparently WLTP hasn’t delayed it. I wonder if some of the delays mentioned on here are more to do with dealers build slots getting moved around & less to do with WLTP. Could it be that some dealers estimate an optimistic delivery date which then somehow gets delayed.. who would do such a thing??

Mine is built - i've consistantly been told that, I think it's stuck in Germany until it can pass the WLTP

Matt. Just had the same response from VWCS; absolutely no help.

Follow your recent contact I can advise your vehicle is expected to arrive at the Van Centre in week 52, which is the end of December, again this date is subject to change it could move forwards or backwards.

I have been told your vehicle is built and ready for delivery but we are awaiting technical data from the UK government so we can homologate your vehicle here, this delay is caused by the delay in gaining type approval, caused by the transition from the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP); this is an industry-wide issue affecting many manufacturers and models.

Your selling Van Centre will have the same information as us and should be able to keep you fully up to date during delivery.

Thank you for contacting Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and I apologise again for the inconvenience which has been caused to you.

Doesn’t make me feel much better!

Well that sucks. I hope mine isn't about to be delayed too! Why does it take another 3 months? seems quite a while?
