Countdown 5 Begins

I don't know if it is my Internet or the Forum but I just can't seem to post any pictures at the moment.

I'll try again.
Lots of long Tunnels today culminating in the longest The Laerdel Tunnel.
A herd of cows caused a hold up on the road. Was expecting reindeer not cows.

From where you are now (Loen) you can visit Briksdalsbreen. A wonderful experience, highly recommended!

Hi of 26 today dropping to 21 by Monday, apparantly.
I really really want to ‘like’ this but I can’t help but think about what these temperatures say about climate change.
Having said that, even 21 sounds attractive compared to the 11 here today.
Great photos @WelshGas

Now pitched up 30 miles and 1 ferry crossing from Lysebotn.
The route today was Route 13 with a few detours on country roads to cut off corners. Fabulous route if you enjoy driving. Better than any Alpine route I've driven. Tunnels galore including 2 long ones complete with roundabouts and one tunnel exit out of the side of a fjord onto a suspension bridge , suspended from the fjord wall and off the bridge into another tunnel. Also a 720 degree tunnel, 2 complete circles to exit higher up the mountain. The Norwegians are crazy when it comes to Tunnels and bridges.
One of the Motorhome Aires with toilets nothing else and free.20240523_115318.jpg

And tonight's campsite, with a storm coming in.20240523_164236.jpg

wow that spot looks nice! is it wild camping?

Afraid not. Beyond my capabilities now.

Paul, if you plan to take the Lyseveien up to the Kjerag cafe, make sure you follow all of Lyseveien and Suleskardveien east, right down to Setesdalen. Beautiful drive!
Is this the route ?IMG_2326.jpeg

Well a short trip today - Not.
Started off a 12 mile run on a single lane mountain road with passing places to the Ferry. It was supposed to have started but no technical problems starting 1st June. Retraced route and another ferry and then the road to Lysebotn. As I climbed into the clouds visibility dropped until the last 15 or so miles I was doing 10 mph following the edge marker of another single track mountain road. Before I knew it I had passed the tourist place + cafe at the top and was onto the hairpins still doing 10mph but came out of the clouds halfway down. The tunnel at the end with a hairpin bend inside has been modernised since my last visit in 2017/19 . LED lighting and now 2 way with passing places, no traffic light controlled entry. Now on the only campsite in Lysebotn which has a very nice cafe/ restaurant that I will visit later.
