Countdown 3 - Begins. Scandinavia 2019

Wild Camping ?......if so were you solitary or with other campers.
On my own, but one turned up in the night. Must have crept in. It was very, very foggy.

So, I’m here, Blue Dot and driving to the Red Heart.

Challenging roads, what’s the approx air temperature & what do they do to treat the roads ?

Awesome. Tollstigen is amazing. Did you see trollveggen just on the other side. That's a sight to behold too.

Lowest Temp about 6c, although just before my wild camp spot at about 850m altitude the Black Ice warning sounded. I don't think they put anything on the roads in winter. Just clear drifts and use winter tyres + chains. Further North spiked tyres were more common.

That fire was still going. When I arrived at 9.30am it was just me and some German bikers. When I left there were 22 coaches of cruise passengers.

Well after 2 Ferries and 160+ miles I’m about 90 miles as the Crow flies from last nights campsite.
Now here.

Ferries and more Ferries today. Spent the afternoon in Bergen parking in a 2m car park and wandering the City and now after another ferry pitched up just outside on my way to Stavanger.

Why does the Ferry Captain have to be reminded which end of the Ferry he’s looking at?

Overnighting here, on EHU. Apparantly it’s going to be a cold night and I want my heater.

The Ferry Bridge has twin control positions, the Ferry also has propellers Fore & Aft. They don’t turn round.
Interesting Ferry this morning, it makes 2 stops.
Cars and small vans going to the 2 nd stop drive on and go up a ramp and down at the empty end of the ferry and do a “U” turn to line up pointing at the loading ramp they just used. Cars getting off at the first stop just drive on. Lorries going to the 2nd stop also drive straight on,BUT at the 1st stop those lorries drive off, around a roundabout and straight back on so they are loaded pointing the correct way for the 2nd stop.
They’ve got it well organised.

Island hopping today via bridges, tunnels and Ferries to Stavanger. I preferred Stavanger to Bergen. Some strange things to see though.

Play Park built from industrial bits and pieces. The kids loved it. H & S definitely took a back seat.

I forgot to mention. As I drove the last stretch to the campsite there were lots of Norwegian flags out and groups of people + children in driveways and on the side roads having what it seemed like picnics etc: waiting for something. When I got to the site I asked the Owner what was up and he said a big cycle race.
So got the camera and joined the crowd.33F48058-2916-4B1F-9CCF-31AFDFB7B2DA.jpeg943F20EA-20AA-424E-8B5F-4C4785CA686E.jpegC98D971D-8512-430C-A068-5A8ACCED811C.jpegF9C8BA53-898E-451F-95A1-CCFB9794D1CD.jpeg123BA287-51EB-4851-B548-9A779B0F8924.jpeg69BF18D2-B2FA-4825-8989-462FEEB060E7.jpegE1A4EBC8-1425-49AA-9892-E59E41F7A2B3.jpegF8D5734C-679D-41DC-B07F-483E09729E53.jpeg
