Countdown begins!

The trip back is going to be slower with more sightseeing, back through Finland and Sweden using different campsites.

But my Cali has not got the same dash , there's space with a lid that can be closed instead of the open tray you got.
Don't feel like using adesife tape to fit a mounth , risk of not getting it propperly cleand aftherwarts.

Well done Welshgas, great trip, thanks for the updates and enjoy.

Ok, got a suction mount to fit my cameras including the DSLR, didn't want to use windscreen, also could be illegal. If you take out the rubber insert in the central dashboard tray the surface is flat but not smooth. I then got a piece of thin Acrylic plastic, very smooth, covered the back in very strong Gorrila double sided tape and stuck that in the tray. The suction mount has been on for 6 days without having to reapply it. Once finished with the rubber insert fits on top of the Acrylic.
I have done exactly this with a self adhesive plastic disc for a satnav mount. Can just put the rubber insert back on when not using satnav.

Rocking night, well the wind that is! Fine morning, sunny but cold +++. Some more pictures.

Each year there is a substantial money prize awarded to a person or organisation that works to improve the Conditions for Life for Children.

Weather looks nice,
Can you keep yourself busy out there staying more than 24h on that same spot?

Well, I've been out for 2 hours walking along the headland and taking photos, a lot more than I have posted here. Just having a warm up then I think it will be time for a Danish and coffee. Some shopping, VAT free for Non-Scandinavians.
To be honest, I'm just enjoying the views and relaxing before the trip back. If the weather holds should get some good views of the Midnight sun. Last night was rubbish, but it didn't get dark.

Well it has been a lovely day here, especially now that the wind has dropped. Done my shopping, had my Danish pastry. Showed a Dutch couple over the California. They were interested how I kept warm without running the engine as that is what they had to do, or run the gas burners. They were very impressed. Then a Swedish couple came over, wanting to know where in Wales I came from. Thank goodness they all spoke perfect English.
California flying the flag now the wind is less.

Off tomorrow. Short trip to Alta River Camping, near the Norwegian town of Alta.

Well just having a brew and this arrivedimage.jpgimage.jpgAll the crew got off. Had their photo taken and then into the Visitor Centre for a coffee.

....nice vehicle to arrive at Nordkapp ,
did you not go over and try to talk the pilot in a test flight with you....:D
You could have given him some of the Danish pastry....:bananadance

Still can spot your Cali ....same place as yesterday!

Yes, the PL registered van that parked right in front last evening has gone now, so uninterrupted view.
The Sun has a funny circular patter here. It sets for about 1 HR, or at least just goes below horizon almost directly in front of me. Then rises at the 2 o-clock position ( if you use the 24hr clock) travels clockwise around behind me to my left side and is now at about 2000hrs. So should set almost directly in front. Totally clear sky at the moment.

Paul , you need to raise your roof ....looks much better on the pictures and the webcam!

Although the wind has dropped still get very strong gusts and I'm side on. Not going to take the chance. Still got 2,500 miles to go.

Got you now, looks like you are outside!

Is that the flag I can just make out - positioned between front doors?

He's busy drinking expensive lager. I think the flag is clipped to the drivers window ...

Clipped to the end of the awning actually.
Yes, having a Lager and watching the sun sink closer to the horizon.image.jpg
