Just because I'm a dog and cali ocean bore
..., bought with them in mind. In fact I bought the van for them.
Wow! My ex had a kerry blue. We bought fencing .... But I have 1 with attachment issues who stays close. But I ended up using the twisty spikes that go in the ground with a long lead.We travel with six dogs . Two working Cockers, a Kerry Blue terrier, 2 Valencian terriers (Jack Russell size) and a Yorkie/Mini Pincher cross. The Cockers are in the Lintran, the terriers & Yorkie cross are harnessed in Solvit Dog hanging baskets (hang from the headrests) on the bench seat and the Yorkie cross in back of the driver's chair. The Kerry lies on the ground between passenger/driver's chairs. We carry a foldable 8-sided fencing and when pitched, they are inside that. It works for us!
Mmmm. Glad you don't camp next to me. 6 dogs in a cali. Ridiculous. I have a dog before you start on the dog hater thing. But I hate the yapping of others all tied up yapping and howling. So inconsiderate on a camp site. I love dogs but I would drive very far from your setupWe travel with six dogs . It a Hamster basket one. They do made to measure. We found that we loose muchess space in the seating area , as this is wider and shallower. Plus the holes in the crate are brat for puttin on leads prior to opening the crate doorIs it a Barjo one, they cost loads?!
I had a Lintran box, but it doesn't fit under my new bed. If I feel flush at any point, I'll get another one custom-made. Definitely with 3 dogs, crates are necessary, it's not like having just the one, which is way less awkward.
Mine don't yap. They are lazy and snooze. But rather 6 dogs than 6 scream g kids yes .... I am a child haterMmmm. Glad you don't camp next to me. 6 dogs in a cali. Ridiculous. Now I am with you. Always park well away from The swings. Never met 6 dogs at once that don't yap tho. They must be worn out or well trained. Or bothMine don't yap. They are lazy and snooze. But rather 6 dogs than 6 scream g kids yes .... I am a child hater

Whenever we pull into a campsite, I am VERY aware of the eyes on us. I take the time to assure them; I DON'T allow my dogs to bark or become a nuisance. They sleep with us inside the van at night. On top of the fencing surround, is a bespoke cover, which provides cover and shade for them. I have n-e-v-e-r had any complaints; I don't believe I have a right to bother my fellow campers. I mostly attract children who line up to take the dogs for a walk. Or the children sit by the fencing or sometimes inside to be near the dogs. So if you should perhaps park next to me, drop by. Have a latte with me or a glass of wine and judge for yourself.Mine don't yap. They are lazy and snooze. But rather 6 dogs than 6 scream g kids yes .... I am a child hater
My friend has just qualified for agility at crufs. But yes ..... dog shows 100s dogs .... very little yapping. Much quite than 100s of childrenView attachment 39782 6 dogs in a Cali, sounds like heaven to me.
We go to a lot of dog agility shows, literally 100’s of dogs, all camping together, for up to 2 weeks at a time. Very little yapping.
The are the result of being obedience trained by me of 50yrs of dog training. Now I am with you. Always park well away from The swings. Never met 6 dogs at once that don't yap tho. They must be worn out or well trained. Or both
Excellent. Dogs need to be well trained. If they are then you can take them anywhere.. and if the dogs are a problem on a camp site .. it's the owner's, not the dogs that are to blame. The are the result of being obedience trained by me of 50yrs of dog training.
Agree wholeheartedly. One can take them anywhere!
Hi All,
Just wanted to ask how you folks with dogs secure them whilst travelling?
My understanding is that it's the law now to have them secured in correctly. Rightly so too.
That's brilliant.Hi,
Ever owner is worried about the safety of their pets whilst travelling and especially in the case of an accident.
We had a cage made to measure by BARJO to fit our Cali.
It can fit either in the rear, or just behind the front seats, for long trips we put the cage behind the front seats so that the boys are closer to us, for everyday we have the cage in the rear (as per photo).
Pics attached.
Cage in rear.

Your van looks nice and clean.
I use one of those cotton, rubber backed soft door mats to cover the bumper. It also absorbes some of the wet/mud , before they get in the van
HiI have a crate that goes in the boot for my 3 field spaniels. It means we can't use the lower bed, but we like upstairs, so that's not a problem. There are lots of safety issues with dogs in vans and cars .... the crate means the dogs can't jump out when we raise the tail gate. It also means we can leave the tail gate open if we are waiting in a que for the ferry etc.View attachment 39736
